Who I Am
My name is Andrew Kiproff, and I recently graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with a BS in New Media: Interactive Development. I was introduced to new media at an early age and have been fascinated with design and development ever since. I was born in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA and spent most of my youth capturing the world around me. Whether I was filming my friends skateboard or designing print media for the school district, my passion for art and technology remains an undying thirst that can not be quenched. RIT helped me create a network of talented mentors that helped shape my programming and design foundations.
The people of RIT really opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities of technology and the dreams that could be achieved with minimal resources and some clever thinking. While attending RIT, I was asked to become Head of Internet Development for RIT’s SportsZone. My experience required that I totally rebuild the SportsZone website (… originally built in Flash ಠ_ಠ) and reorganize the file system located on SportsZones servers. Sportzone proved to be an amazing opportunity that challenged my creative programming skills. Upon graduation, I relinquished my title as Head of Internet Development to a junior programmer that I had trained to take my place and began working for a Buffalo, NY based marketing firm, Sparkable.
Sparkable has not only expanded my programming knowledge, but has given me marketing foresight that has greatly increased my ability to gain exposure on the web.
